Apr. 24th - The Day Lilibet Became The Huntress 🏹

Move over Diana...there's a new goddess of the hunt!

We have had an absolutely perfect spring day here in Central Texas. Blue skies filled with fluffy white clouds, balmy temperatures, and a nice gentle breeze...my idea of the ideal day (really...I wouldn't mind if every day of the year had weather like today). It would seem Lilibet shared my feelings about the weather as she spent the majority of the day outside. Normally she wouldn't venture too far off of the patio...shortly after we moved into our house I believe she discovered she was neither the biggest nor the scariest cat to roam our backyard. We have a heavily wooded ravine behind our house we know for certain is home to at least one bobcat and heaven only knows how many other creatures. However today it would seem there was something beyond the safety of the patio and fence line which piqued her curiosity so she decided she needed to investigate the situation. I must say, I was truly shocked to see her jump over the back fence, and quite amused as well (Lilibet is not the smallest of cats so to see her attempting to balance on the top of the narrow fence was a rather comical sight)! After successfully completing her not so graceful jump over the fence, she made a bee line for the brush at the back of our property and began to prowl up and down the edge of the brush sniffing the air as she went. I'm not quite sure what it was she thought would be her prey, but I'm assuming since there were no little surprises left for us on the back step her hunt was not very successful (thank goodness...the last thing I want on my back step is some sort of dead or wounded creature...especially a snake!) I'm not sure which I found more comical...Lilibet's awkward jump over the fence or the fact that she thought she'd be able to catch something without actually venturing into the brush instead of simply prowling along the edge. Either way, Lilibet's antics provided me with a moment of comic relief making an already perfect day even better. I hope you have witnessed something today that has provided you with a moment of comic relief as well.
