Although...the conversation was a little one sided.

Well today has been a complete washout here in Galveston. There have been moments throughout the day the rain has slowed somewhat, but for the most part it's been a steady downpour the entire day. While the weather has certainly been less than ideal, it did give the Hubs and I a chance to spend a relaxing day snuggled up in our travel trailer. It would seem we were not the only ones who decided today was a perfect day to stay inside, there were very few people who braved the weather to stroll the beach, and most of our neighbors in the RV resort felt the best way to spend the day would be to remain in their dry and comfy campers. I say most of our neighbors because not all of the resort residents chose to stay inside, there were one or two brave enough to venture out into the weather. It would seem that in addition to the humans and their campers our beachside RV resort is also home to an extremely healthy rabbit population...rabbits who seem to have no fear of their human neighbors. As I was standing at the sink I spotted one of our rabbit neighbors out and about seemingly in search of something yummy to munch on, and luckily for the little fellow we had purchased some baby carrots yesterday. In spite of my extreme dislike of rain, I decided to venture outside to see if our furry little neighbor would be interested in a tasty baby carrot...and it would seem he/she most certainly was. I had expected he/she would maybe come close enough for me to gently toss him/her said baby carrot, but to my great surprise he/she not only hopped right up to me, but ever so gently took the baby carrot directly from my hand (insert squeals of joy here)! While I would have loved to have spent a bit longer getting to know my new found friend, the rain decided to once again come down in buckets, so a quick retreat to the trailer seemed the best course of action. Hopefully the weather will be a bit better tomorrow, and I will once again see my furry little friend (we have a whole bag of baby carrots waiting to be shared should he/she decide to return). Being an animal lover I am always excited when I see any sort of wildlife, but to have the opportunity to interact so closely with the local wildlife definitely brought a huge smile to my face on this gray and rainy day. I hope there has been something to bring a smile to your face today as well.
Blessings, Candi 💕
