Not that type of chick...hummingbird chicks silly!

Happy May Day to all! Unfortunately Mother Nature does not adhere to the Gregorian calendar...she has continued to rain down showers on Central Texas. I really shouldn't complain, in just a couple of months Central Texas will be experiencing drought like conditions and wishing for any type of precipitation Mother Nature might feel inclined to bless us with. Now, however, is what I consider to be the best month of the year (and I'm not saying that just because my birthday, the Hubs birthday, and our anniversary all occur in the month of May). May brings with it comfortable temperatures, lovely blooms, colorful birds, and the humble honey bee...some of my favorite things. Not only do the lovely blooms of May provide us with an amazing array of colors, they provide much needed pollen (sorry to those with allergies...just know I am among you) and nectar needed by honey bees, butterflies, and my personal favorite...hummingbirds. Hummingbirds have always fascinated me...their bright beautiful colors, their size and speed, and their inquisitive nature make them what I consider to be one of the most intriguing of all the bird species. Today I came across a video (simply click on the photo to view the full video) of two hummingbird chicks eagerly partaking of nectar from a hand held feeder, and I have to say I was amazed to see just how fearless they both were. Trust is something we as humans do not always afford others, so to see it on display by two fearless little hummingbirds definitely made my heart feel a little lighter today. I hope the video of those two fearless little hummingbirds will do the same for you.

Blessings, Candi šŸ’•
