May 22nd - The Day The Angels Wept 💦

They must have been extremely sad today!

Well it would seem our last full day of vacation was destined to be the same as our first (and every day in between)...RAINY! As my cousin said to me just the other day..."even a bad day camping beats a good day at work", and he was right. Determined not to let the weather get the best of us, the Hubs and I decided our best course of action would be to explore the areas surrounding Galveston. Having previously explored the League City area we knew there was a wonderful Mexican restaurant called Esteban's Cafe y Cantina (if you ever find yourself in League City, TX I highly recommend you stop in for a yummy meal) we decided would be our dinner stop for the evening. With a few hours to kill, and the rain mercifully slowing to a mere drizzle, we decided to check out the Boardwalk in Kemah...I had been there many years ago when the Hubs had had to attend a training seminar, but the Kemah I remembered was very different from the Kemah of today. As I said...it has been many years since I had been there, and I can only assume the many hurricanes which have battered the Texas coast in the past decade or so have caused many areas to rebuild creating a much different area than I remember. With our exploration of the Kemah Boardwalk complete we headed back out on the road to explore some more...it was then I noticed an extremely unusual pairing. As we travelled along the highway access road I looked up to see a "gentlemen's club" named Heartbreakers...and directly behind said "gentlemen's club" (which apparently welcomes not only "gentlemen" but couples as well) a billboard proclaiming "Jesus heals the broken-hearted" (is it just me, or is someone trying to make a point here?!). I have to be honest, the sight of that billboard directly above that club caused me to burst out in peals of laughter...the kind of laughter that causes you to snort! Not only was I blessed with the gift of laughter this afternoon, but upon returning to our RV resort I was graced by the presence of my little bunny buddy, and of course I spoiled my furry little friend with a big old pile of yummy carrots (two of which my furry friend took straight from my hand!). In spite of the less than ideal weather, spending the day with the Hubs has made today a wonderful day indeed. Hopefully you have been blessed with the gift of laughter today as well.

Blessings, Candi 💕
